Universal vertical racks with a rotary clamping mechanism, as well as other useful "chips" (factory-made), which are designed to repair bicycles, are expensive. And cheaper analogues do not differ in good stability.
Therefore, if you need a strong and reliable stand for fixing the bike in a suspended state, it is better to do it yourself. Thus, you can easily remove the wheel, clean the chain from dirt, replace the sprocket or hub, as well as eliminate other bicycle breakdowns at home.
Necessary materials and stages of work
First of all, you will need to weld guide rails with teeth for the gear wheel to the square profile pipe. Further, from a larger profile, it is necessary to make a carriage by cutting a plate in one of its sides along the width of a vertical rack on which the carriage itself is mounted.
We weld nuts to the gear wheel on both sides. Then you need to screw in them a bolt with a plate that is welded to the carriage. On the other side of the gear, we fasten another steel plate with an overlay, the lower part of which is also welded to the carriage. A long handle is attached to the bolt. When the handle is rotated, the carriage moves along the guide rail.
Further, a structural support is made of profile pipes and plates, into which a vertical rack with a guide rail with teeth and a movable carriage with a gear wheel and handle is then inserted. After that, it remains only to make auxiliary structural elements and connect everything together.
