Stylish jewelry does not have to be made of precious metals - you can make a beautiful pectoral accessory with your own hands, moreover, from cheaper and more affordable materials. A clear confirmation of this is the ring of wood and epoxy.
Such a product looks very unusual and original, while perfectly blending with evening and everyday attire.
Another important ingredient, in addition to wood and epoxy, is turquoise powder, which can also be made at home on your own.
Thus, the total cost of the craft will be lower than that of jewelry, and the ring looks no worse than jewelry. In addition, such a handmade jewelry will be an excellent gift for a girl on her birthday or for any other reason.
The main stages of work
To make a ring, you need a wooden plank that needs to be broken in half - not to be cut with a hacksaw, but broken by hand or in a vice so that the edges of the workpiece are torn. This is necessary for better adhesion to epoxy.
At the next stage, we make turquoise powder, after which it must be mixed with epoxy diluted in recommended proportions with a hardener. A piece of a wooden plank is wrapped in several layers with tape, after which we pour turquoise epoxy on top.
Product Processing
After the epoxy hardens, remove the “wrapper” from the adhesive tape and level the surface with a grinding disc. Then in the center we drill a hole of the desired diameter, after which we process the internal faces with sandpaper.
Next, with the help of a grinder, we form the outer contours, cutting off the excess parts, and then we grind and polish the entire surface of the product. The result is a very nice and stylish ring that looks cooler than any expensive jewelry.
