To make a textured roller with your own hands, you will need a regular stitching (or it is also often called - wallpaper) roller.
First of all, you need to make accurate markings, according to which then it will be necessary to make incisions. Remove the roller from the handle, and proceed to the marking. Be sure to make accurate measurements - using a ruler. This is necessary so that all sides are even.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, with the help of a knife, the author makes an incision along the surface of the roller (in accordance with the marking). Please note that it is necessary to cut literally 1.5-2 mm. Try to do everything very carefully.
Then you need to make an incision obliquely, and make recesses inside the contour, removing the top layer of material from which the roller is made. And you need to try to trim so that the thickness of the removed layer is not more than 2 mm.
If necessary, the resulting texture can be slightly trimmed so that the pattern is more like the surface of a stone or brick.
