Sometimes it is necessary to mark a large number of workpieces made of wood or metal (divide them into equal parts). Many masters use ordinary roulette and a square for this.

However, measuring out the length of each piece first with a tape measure (or a metal ruler), and then also dividing the obtained value by the desired number of parts in the mind or on the calculator - this all takes up a lot of time.

But with the help of a simple home-made device, such work is much faster. For its manufacture, an aluminum strip with a thickness of 2 mm and a width of 20 mm, and fasteners in the form of bolts and nuts will be required.

The main stages of work

The first step is to cut the aluminum strip into blanks of different lengths: seven segments 12 cm long and seven segments 20 cm long. A total of 14 blanks should be obtained. But if necessary, you can cut more workpieces.

Further, in each workpiece, it will be necessary to drill three holes: along the edges and in the middle. This operation is best performed on a drilling machine.

After this, it remains only to connect all the workpieces together with bolts and nuts. The result was a simple but very useful tool in the workshop.
