In this review, the author shows an interesting way how to make a clamp from nuts and bolts with your own hands. And for this, neither a lathe nor a welding machine will be required.

A home-made clamp allows you to connect individual elements and parts to a wire tie. In this case, the connection itself is quite durable.

As we said earlier - for the manufacture of the device you do not need to perform welding and turning work, so this clamp can be done by everyone.

To make a clamp, two elongated nuts M8, two wing bolts M8, two ordinary nuts with a diameter of 8 mm, one long bolt and a piece of hairpin about 3 cm long will be required.

The main stages of work

First, we wind an ordinary nut onto a piece of a stud, and then an elongated one. Clamp in a vise and with the help of a trihedral file in the center of the stud, you will need to make a recess.

Then, with a drill with a diameter of 8 mm, the author drills a hole in the elongated nut by about ¾ of the entire length.

Then we wind the extended nut back onto the hairpin and tighten with a regular nut.

In the second elongated nut (in one of its faces) it will be necessary to drill a hole with a drill with a diameter of 6.8 mm. On the edges we drill holes with a diameter of 3 mm.

At the next stage, the author tightens the wing nut (onto the stop) onto a long bolt. Fix with a regular nut.

Fixture assembly

Assembling a homemade clamp is very simple. First of all, it is necessary to screw a long bolt into the hole drilled in the elongated nut.

After that, the author screws an elongated nut onto the bolt, into which a piece of the stud is screwed.

The remaining two wing bolts must be screwed into the elongated nut. See the photo below.
