Welding is a very interesting thing, then they come into fashion, then interest in them disappears. Like many wonderful improvements, they came to us from motorsport (the creation of wide wheels for single-drive). There are two manufacturing methods using four and eight discs. The disks for the weld-outs must be smooth, after refinement it will be much more difficult to roll them. To save your money, some stages, with the exception of work requiring professional skills, can be completed independently.
Strip strips
• pros: you need only four discs
• cons: strips need to be chopped on the guillotine, an additional welding seam
Making sets of two sets
• pluses: minimum welding, high reliability of the disk (if compared with the first method)
• cons: you need to find two identical sets of stampings, the width limit (if compared with the first method)
Self-made cooking
1. Selection of disks. It is necessary to deal with the radius and reach (you can use a tire calculator for this).
2. Cutting discs. Independently with a grinder or on a lathe, the second option is preferable to the advantages of accuracy, the ability to leave a "shelf" under the weld (1000 rubles four disks).
3. Making strips. We turn to the workshop, on a special guillotine, plates of the required size and thickness are chopped (1500-2000 rubles).
4. Welding. The stampings cut on the machine from two sets are easy to center, for welding the most successful option (2000 rubles). To weld the strips you need a conductor and an experienced master. (3000-4000 rubles).
5. Painting. A competent way to sand the parts before welding (1000 rubles), then coated with polymer paint (2000-4000 rubles). The budget way is sandpaper and a pair of paint cylinders (800-1000 rubles).
