In this review, the author offers the idea of making a universal home-made tile cutter. For this, an aluminum profile of 50 * 20 mm of the required length, a piece of PCB and a piece of metal profile pipe 40 * 20 mm will be required.

It will also be necessary to prepare a piece of porous rubber and a roller cutter for cutting tiles. It can be removed, for example, from an old conventional tile cutter. And still need small bearings.

First of all, the author cuts the blank of the desired shape from the profile 40 * 20 mm. Then he makes a carriage from a piece of textolite. Small bearings are attached to the edges of the carriage, so that it can move along the guide from the aluminum profile.

A workpiece from a profile pipe is already attached to the carriage itself, to which a roller cutter is screwed for cutting tiles.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, the author cuts a patch from wood that needs to be fixed on a double-sided tape to the workpiece from the profile. If desired, you can cover this "pad" with varnish.

The carriage turns out quick-detachable - it is easily put on a guide and it is just as easily removed that is very convenient. Two strips of silicone are applied to the bottom of the profile.

Next, you will need more hooks with suction cups, which are used for the bathroom or kitchen (two pieces will be enough, but you need to buy more or less high-quality, and not the first ones). They are attached to the rail from the profile (side).
