When arranging a garden, I always want to save some money. So tubs for plants can be made independently, not at all inferior to store quality.
There is a simple technology that allows you to create a variety of containers from cement. You do not need mold for pouring, which saves money and gives room for imagination.
The main stages of work
First you need to decide on the shape of the tub. Sketch and cut the blade out of a metal sheet. Attach it to an iron rod or strip along which the blade can be moved. Weld the rod to a piece of pipe that will fit snugly against the pole.
The pole is firmly fixed in the ground and rake sand to it. Initially, with a blade, we will give the sand the desired shape so that the inner walls are neat. Gradually pour in wet sand until you are in perfect shape.
Now you can start pouring cement. Increase the radius of the blade by the wall thickness of the future product.
For the first layer, the composition should be liquid. When splashing it out of a cup, pour a cement mixture over the entire mold.
Sand absorbs water very quickly, so that you can immediately proceed to the next step. The main thickness will be laid out from a sufficiently thick cement mixture.
It should be easy to type on the spatula and not drain. Gradually build up the walls, remembering to smooth the mixture with a blade.
At the final stage, we will return to the liquid mixture again. It is needed so that the surface of the product is perfectly smooth and even, without roughness and air bubbles. Gradually add cement to form a blade pattern.
Now remove the pole and cut off the smudges of concrete from the edges of the bowl. While the mixture is still wet, it will be easy to do.
It is important to let the product dry well when all work is completed. Wet cement may crack or warp, especially for large, heavy bowls.
You can leave a gray color or paint the tub. Cement paints are great for products that will stand on the street. They do not fade from exposure to the sun or water.
Using the same technology, it is easy to create a pedestal for the tub. So it will look even more interesting.
