Wood brushing is one of the most popular methods for decorative processing of workpieces, which allows you to give the finished product an original and even slightly refined look.

For brushing wooden surfaces, it is necessary to use special brushes with a metal pile or fibers made of polyamide (or nylon).

Brush brushes are designed for installation on a grinder, however, it should be with a speed regulator.

But it is better to use a polishing machine, since the optimal speed for brushing a tree is 1500-2000 rpm, and there is such a mode of operation on polishing machines, while not on all grinders.

Types of brush for brushing

It should be noted that brushing brushes can be made of different materials, and this determines their scope. As mentioned earlier, brushes come with metal or plastic fibers. They can also vary in shape: end, disk, cylindrical, cup.

Sometimes on sale you can find brushes for brush machines with a shaft, which are also suitable for angle grinders, thanks to the adapter sleeve.

Metal cylindrical brushes for brushing have bristles made of brass steel wire. Suitable for working with soft and hard woods. Mainly used for structuring workpieces.

Cup-shaped brushes with polymer-abrasive pile are often used for easy texturing of a wooden surface. More suitable not for brushing, but for grinding.

Cylindrical brushes do a good job of revealing the structure of wood, and can also be used if you need to remove varnish or paint from a wooden surface.

End brushes are used in almost the same way as cylindrical brushes. The only thing that can be advised when working with them is to wind a small strip of electrical tape in the upper part so that the villi are less spread out to the sides.
