In this review, the author decided to conduct an experiment: is it possible to cook food in the sun. To do this, he uses a homemade solar concentrator, made on the basis of a satellite dish.

Details on how to make a do-it-yourself solar concentrator for a summer house and a private house can be found in this review.

The author pasted strips of mirror plastic onto a satellite dish. A cast-iron frying pan is installed in the "landing nest".

Focus is directed to the bottom of the pan (a beam of sunlight that reflects off the mirror surface of the satellite dish). Thus, the pan is heated.

Trying to cook in the sun

We put the frying pan on the “stove”, direct the focus of the sun's rays to the bottom, setting the optimal position of the satellite dish, and wait a while until the cast iron warms up.

Then we pour in a skillet of vegetable oil, wait another 1-2 minutes and break the egg. The pan warmed up well, because the egg immediately begins to cheer fun.

Literally 3-4 minutes passed and the egg was almost ready. In time, the preparation of fried eggs lasts almost as long as on an electric or gas stove.

Then the author tries to fry the potatoes. And the result is also excellent - the potatoes were cooked very quickly and even a beautiful golden crust appeared.
