A sandblasting machine is undoubtedly a very useful thing that will always come in handy in the garage and home workshop.

After all, as you know, sanding is the best way to quickly remove rust on metal.

Factory settings cost pretty decent money and not everyone can afford it.

Therefore, it is easier and cheaper to make a sandblasting machine with your own hands. Read how to make a simple sandblast from an old fire extinguisher.

But not everyone has the opportunity to find a gas cylinder or an old fire extinguisher to use as a sand container. How to be in this situation?

If there is a compressor (and without it, of course, nothing will work), you can make a budget option sandblasting.

In this case, the cheapest and most affordable materials will be required. I wonder how? Then read on.

The main stages of work

For the manufacture of sandblasting, a fitting (with an external diameter of 12 mm and an internal diameter of 6 mm) with two nuts is required. The length of the nozzle is 50 mm.

You will also need a piece of metal tube with a diameter of at least 8 mm (the hose must be the same diameter). In the center of the tube it will be necessary to drill a hole.

At the next stage, we weld the tube to the fitting at a right angle (that is, the parts themselves should be perpendicular to each other).

We drill a hole in the fitting and weld a nut. Then we screw in a bolt there. Thus, a crane for regulating the flow of sand.

We attach a plastic cap to the fitting, into which we screw the bottle (it is advisable to use a bottle from Coca-cola - it is stronger). We will pour sand into the bottle.

Next, you will need two pieces of hose, one of which must be connected to the compressor. We connect them with the tee made earlier.

Insert a nozzle with an inner diameter of 3 mm into the free end of the hose.

Sift the sand through a sieve with 1 mm mesh. The pressure in the system should not be higher than 4 atm.
