DIY room flavors

Fragrance, or air freshener, for a room is not an essential thing, but still with it staying in the room is much more comfortable than without. Especially if you have guests. A huge and varied amount of all kinds of fresheners, fragrances and the so-called "stinks" can be found on the shelves of household chemicals. However, the quality stated on the label does not always coincide with reality: if one person likes a freshener, then another person does not cause any sensations except a headache. It all depends on the chemical additives that were mixed with the base of this or that freshener. Not everyone understands the names of chemical additives, therefore, they often buy a "pig in a poke" - such a purchase, of course, will not bring harm, but it will not bring much joy either. But you can always make a fragrance for a room or home with your own hands, with your favorite smells. The advantage of homemade flavors is that you will know exactly what it consists of, and that it will not cause negative emotions in your loved ones or guests. I will give three options for how, and from which fragrances can be made for rooms in the apartment.

Option 1

You will need:
  • A small container or box (I used a small birch bark pot).
  • Wooden block, 60-70 cm long, and 1 cm thick. (Square or round).
  • Vata.
  • Hacksaw.
  • Essential or aromatic oil (to your preference).

To begin with, using a hacksaw, we cut the prepared bar (although, it is more appropriate to say - rail) into centimeter pieces.

If the rail is very rough, you can walk along it with sandpaper on a tree. Then everything is as simple as that: we put cotton on the bottom of the tank (about one third of the capacity), drop 7-10 drops of the fragrant oil you select on it, put chopped pieces of wood on top and drip another 7-10 drops of the same oil.

The flavor is ready. You need to put it in some kind of warm place so that it evaporates the oil more intensively. It can be a heating radiator, or a place near the system unit of a computer or TV. In general, any source of heat.

Option 2

You will need:
  • A small vase.
  • Branches of raspberries. (Garden raspberries. Without thorns)
  • Fragrant oil.

The second option is even simpler than the first! We cut the branches of raspberry into segments 18–20 centimeters long, drip 30-35 drops of aromatic oil to the bottom of the vase, and lower the raspberry segments into a vase.

Raspberry branches have a sponge-like porous structure inside, which will perfectly give and spread the smells it has absorbed. For such a flavoring you will not need a warm place - raspberries saturated with aromatic oil will intensively fragrance even at ordinary room temperature.

Option 3

You will need:
  • Soda (tablespoon).
  • Flour (half a teaspoon).
  • Salt (teaspoon).
  • Fragrant oil.

This option is not so much time consuming as long. Here you need to show a little patience. So, mix soda, salt and flour in a saucer.

It is better to take a bowl for this purpose - it is more convenient in it. Stirring continuously, add water to the mixture. Bring to the consistency of a cool dough. Next, we divide the dough into lumps measuring 5-7 millimeters.

You can simply roll up balls of the specified size. Now leave these balls and lumps to dry. For a day. Thanks to soda, these lumps turned out to be porous and easily absorb oil. After a day of drying, drip on each lump a drop of fragrant oil, again, chosen by you. You can put these fragrant lumps in some linen bag and hang them in a warm place. I just laid them out on a radiator. Any of these methods will give your room coziness and pleasantly surprise your friends.
