Every pet owner knows how important it is to have a token with the owner’s address or phone, whether it’s a cat or a dog, because your favorite pet, even the smartest and most obedient, can get lost during a walk. But if there is such a token on the pet’s collar, the person who found it will easily return your pet home. In this article, we will show how to make such a locket with your own hands.

We will need

  • - 5 ruble coin.
  • - Sandpaper.
  • - Hammer.
  • - Nail polish.
  • - Old mobile charging.
  • - Aluminum can
  • - etc.

Token Making

First, in any graphic editor convenient for you, we prepare the drawing that you would like to see on the medallion. The image must be flipped from left to right and inverted. Then we adjust the image size to the size of your coin, multiply and print on a laser printer.

We prepare the coin for the token: we smooth out the stamped coin pattern by lightly tapping the coin with a hammer.

Emery paper with a different abrasive, gradually and finally get rid of the old coin pattern.

The next step is to cut out the image and put it on the blank with a coin, bending the edges of the paper.

Iron the coin on both sides with a hot iron for one to two minutes.

We drop a coin in a container of water and wash off the paper with light movements until only the picture remains.

The next step is to make a small hole with a screwdriver and fasten the wire. We take the varnish and carefully sketch the place where the wire was attached, the edges of the coin and the place where the toner was poorly transferred.

With an aluminum can, we make a glass and scratch the varnish a little inside, for electrical conductivity.

In an ordinary glass of water, stir 1-2 tablespoons of salt and filter, pour into an aluminum can. 27

We cut off the wire from the unnecessary mobile charger and screw the red (+) wire to the coin, and the black (-) to the bank.

We plug the charger into the network and lower the coin into the solution for about 10-15 minutes, the reaction rate will depend on the voltage and salinity of the water.

We poison as we wish, if we want deeper the text and the picture, keep it longer in the solution.

After etching, we get rid of the varnish and toner on the coin using a varnish solvent.

The last step is to add some sparkle to the coin. To do this, we polish our token to shine using goya paste, butter and an ordinary drill with a felt tip.

Conclusion

This token does not have to be made with a coin, you can use another blank, for example, make it in the shape of a stone, rhombus, etc. The token with the 5 ruble coin came out of a heterogeneous color, there are different impurities in the coin, from the white coin we got a medallion with a yellowish sheen in some places.
