With this homemade product, you can easily bend metal bars of different diameters by rolling between rollers to create arcs, spirals and rings. Such a device can be made independently using a minimum of materials.

Manufacturing process

In order to save space in the workshop or garage for a manual three-roll pipe bender, a steel vice can be used as a base. The main material for this homemade product is a piece of scrap.
The workpiece must be processed on a lathe to remove all irregularities, and then drill a hole in it with a diameter of 10 mm under the fixing bolt. Then you need to give the workpiece the desired shape and make a groove for the profile of a round bar with a diameter of 12 mm. After that, it is necessary to bore the "socket" under the bearing.

When all three rollers are ready, you can proceed with the installation of bearings. Then you need to make a handle that will rotate the central roller. It can be made from a strip cut from a corner with sides of 45 mm or from other improvised materials.

Design installation

On the surface of the jaws of a vice, you need to make a marking for three holes and, accordingly, drill them, and then cut the thread with an M10 tap. After that, we install the rollers on their seats, fixing them with bolts. That's how simple it is to make a practical manual pipe bender for steel bars.

With this device you can easily bend not only arcs of different sizes, but also basketball hoops. For a detailed process of making homemade products and their application in practice, see the video on our website.
