In the process of working with sheet metal and steel billets, holding with one hand and cooking with the other is not always convenient, so to facilitate the task, you can use the convenient compact clamp, which you can make yourself from the ends of the profile pipe. Well, let's get started?

Manufacturing process

To make such a clamp at home, you will need to use two pieces of a square profile pipe with a length of 70 mm and a width of 30 mm. Using a special pattern, it is necessary to trace the contours of the future part on both sides of the workpieces.
Then, with the help of a grinder, it is necessary to carefully cut out the two parts that will be required for the manufacture of the clamp, without damaging their main part. For a more even cut, you can use a jigsaw or a hacksaw for metal.

The workpieces obtained in this way must be finished with a file to remove the remaining burrs, as well as smooth out irregularities on the surface. Then you need to bend the "ears" of the parts, and then drill holes for fastening in them on both sides.

Clamp assembly

To assemble the clamp, you will also need one part made of a steel square, two pieces of studs, a nut and a lamb. For a more secure grip, you can also weld a pair of corners in the working part of the clamp. After this, it remains only to clean the weld seams and paint the finished product.

Using such a practical and compact clamp, it will be much easier and more convenient to carry out various welding operations. And you can make this tool with your own hands from available materials at hand.
