If you often have to work in the "field", then the practical and lightweight wooden folding goats, made by yourself, will definitely come in handy on the farm. They are convenient to use, do not take up much space, are portable and quite functional.

Of the basic materials you will need two boards 96x20 mm 3 meters long, as well as one meter section of the board 120 mm wide. For connection, bolts with nuts are used (instead of standard bolts, you can take studs with lamb).

Step-by-step manufacturing process

To begin with, from the 96x20 mm board, it is necessary to cut manually or on a miter saw two identical segments 100 cm long. We cut the same length along the 120 mm wide board. From these segments it is necessary to assemble an I-beam (the joints are fastened with self-tapping screws).

To make the legs of a folding construction goat, you will need to use four pieces of board with a length of 83 mm. So that they can be folded, you need to make curves with a radius of 60 degrees on one side.

Useful Tips

After that, we drill through holes with a drill with a diameter of 12 mm. To prevent the holes from “breaking up” with the bolt during operation of the goat, it is necessary to press in the segments from the aluminum tube into them.

In order for the “legs” of the construction goat not to form under longitudinal loads, you will additionally need to choose a groove 5 mm deep at a distance of 35 mm from the edge. Then it remains only to collect all the structural elements and the folding goat is ready for use.
