As an alternative light source for a home, garage, summer house or workshop (for example, if the electricity was unexpectedly turned off in the evening), you can use a homemade incandescent light bulb that is powered by rechargeable batteries.

To make such a “mobile” light bulb, you will need a small glass jar with a lid (for example, you can use a container for face cream or others), two bolts, four nuts, a piece of nichrome spiral, a small “core” of a paraffin candle with a wick, shrink tube and glue.

The main stages of work

In the lid of the jar, it is necessary to drill two holes for the bolts at a distance of 3-4 cm from each other. We screw two nuts on the bolts (closer to the base of the cap), after which we put the heat-shrink tube in the center and warm it with a lighter.

We insert the bolts into the holes in the cover and fix on both sides with hot melt adhesive - it is extremely important to ensure maximum tightness. We wind two more nuts at the ends of the bolts, and then clamp a piece of a nichrome spiral between them.

At the last stage of work, you need to glue the "stub" of the paraffin candle to the inside of the lid, light it and close the lid. This is necessary in order to burn all the oxygen in a glass jar, otherwise there will be no bright glow.

Then we clamp between the nuts on the outside of the wire bolts from the battery pack. Now the home-made device is completely ready for use. The process of manufacturing and using incandescent lamps at home, see the video on our website.
