Homemade speaker from improvised materials

This device has a fairly simple design, so if you want, using improvised materials, to assemble a homemade speaker at home, everyone can do it. The only thing is that you need a thin copper wire, which can be borrowed from any DC electric motor.

Of the main materials we will use a plastic funnel, neodymium magnets, a plastic cork from a large bottle, thick cardboard for the manufacture of coils, A4-size paper, a pad and hot-melt adhesive.

Step-by-step speaker manufacturing process

First of all, it is necessary to make a body part for the speaker from a plastic funnel - cut off the nose, make a marking, and then cut out the blank of the desired shape. After that, take the nut, attach it to the neodymium magnets and glue the resulting part to the inside of the plastic cover.

The lid itself needs to be “corked” with a suitable plastic washer (it can be cut from another lid) and glued to the outside of the speaker housing so that the magnets look inward. Next, from thick cardboard we make the basis for the coil, on which we wind a thin copper wire - about 50-60 turns.

At least 10 mm of free space should remain on the sides of the coil. We put a copper coil on neodymium magnets. The ends of the copper wire are brought to the contact pad. From the sheet A4, cut out a circle, draw a radius on it and cut from one side to the middle. We bend the paper so that we get a cone. In the center we make a hole equal to the diameter of the coil.

We put the resulting diffuser on the protruding part of the coil. We cover all the cracks with hot glue. This way you can make a simple speaker at home. See the steps in the video on the site.
