An original souvenir hunting knife can be made with your own hands from a regular bolt. Well, not quite ordinary, but made of stainless steel. Such a homemade knife is hardly suitable for cutting products or planing sticks, since the sharpening of the blade will not hold for a long time.

But as a pocket souvenir, it looks just fine. But only if usually such souvenirs are expensive, then this will get you for a penny - at the cost of one bolt. Of course, you have to work a little, but the end result is worth the effort and time.

Step-by-step knife making process

We clamp a bolt of the desired diameter of 3.5 inches (almost 9 cm) in a vise and use a grinder to cut off the edges of the hat. In principle, you can do otherwise - take a bolt more authentic (for example, 4 inches) and simply cut the pin to the very hat.

Then we heat the bolt from the stainless steel red-hot using a gas burner or in another way and using a hammer and anvil we turn it into a plate. After that, cut out the knife template from paper, transfer the contours to the workpiece. Having picked up the grinder, we give the plate the desired shape.

Next, we process the workpiece with a file, make a slot on the handle with a drill and grind it on a belt grinder. We make the knife handle from ebony ebony - we cut out two plates and glue to the handle. For reliability, we fix it with rivets. Then we finish grinding and polishing.
