Handmade forged products are aesthetically attractive and elegant, so they are often used to decorate doors, gates and gates made of metal or wood. Forged false handles harmoniously fit into any architectural style, complementing it with the unique flavor of past centuries.

If you want to make original false handles by hot forging, you can do it yourself - there is nothing complicated about it. To work, you will need a hammer and an anvil, as well as angle grinders and a welding machine. From the material we will use a plate 27 cm long and 4 cm wide, steel balls and a square bar.

The process of manufacturing forged pens

Glue a paper template (which one is more like it) to the surface of the plate, outline the contours and cut the blank with a grinder. Then we heat it red with a gas burner or in an ordinary fire, and then hard beat it off with a heavy hammer, giving the surface of the workpiece the desired texture.

For example, the metal surface can be decorated with "ulcers of the time" - this type of texture is widely demanded in the field of art forging, giving the products an antique effect. Next, we twist the steel square bar or use a ready-made “pigtail”, and bend under a small radius.

First we weld metal balls to the plate, and to them is already a bent steel bar. On the edges of the plate we drill holes for fastening to the door leaf or wicket. The surface of the finished forged handle is covered with paint. As you can see, making such a small masterpiece is not difficult at all.
