To make this interesting and unusual decorative element that you can use to decorate your interior with your own hands, you will need a wooden ball and “bits” of colored pencils. We clamp the workpiece in the "vice" of the lathe and, armed with superglue, we begin to "plant" colored pencils on the surface.

The result should be a round cute "prickly hedgehog." Next, we place the decorative ball in a pre-prepared mold, mix the epoxy resin with the hardener and fill it up to about half the mold. Then we place the mold for several seconds in a sealed container, to which we connect the compressor.

After all these manipulations, we get a cylindrical billet, which now has to be processed on a lathe. The result should be a beautiful decorative ball that can be put on a shelf in the room or presented as an original DIY gift.

Workpiece processing

The contents of the form, together with a wooden stand, are installed in the lathe chuck and are pressed by the tailstock. In order not to scratch the end surface, you can use a piece of foam. We process the workpiece until we get the product of the desired shape. And it should turn out to be a round ball, inside of which - "bits" of colored pencils are hidden.

After roughing, cut the sphere from the stand, clamp it again in a lathe and grind it with fine sandpaper. At the last stage of work, we polish the ball. The result is a very nice decorative ball that will decorate any home interior.
