Round sticks in the household are always needed. Sometimes it is necessary to make dowels of the same diameter in order to assemble furniture. Sometimes just a chopik is required to score in a wall. Cutting rounds with a knife yourself is a tedious task. And all this for a long time.

Round sticks made of wood can be made using a piece of square profile. Despite the difference in geometry (round sticks, square profile), this is quite real. This method is especially useful in situations where you need to urgently make a large number of dowels or choppers.

If you need to make round sticks with a diameter of about 10 mm, a piece of a square profile pipe with a cross section of 10x10 mm is just right for this. In this case, the wall thickness of the profile must be at least 3 mm.

The main stages of work

Using a grinder with a cutting disc at the ends of the profile pipe, we cut the cutting teeth, which will "bite" the wooden workpiece. As for the shape of the teeth themselves, it can be different. Therefore, you can experiment a bit until the result suits you.

A section of a profile pipe is clamped in a bench vice at an angle of 45-50 degrees. Well, then we fix one end of the wooden workpiece in the drill chuck, and the second we rest against the end of the square profile. We begin to rotate the bar, while pushing it into the pipe.
