According to the author, with the help of a homemade kinetic ax, it will be possible to chop any logs. And therefore, such homemade work in everyday life (especially in a private house or in the country) may well come in handy.

To make this device, you will need an old ax, a piece of pipe with a diameter of 1.5 inches and a length of about 150 cm, as well as a piece of thick-walled pipe.

The first step is to weld the ax butt to a steel pipe with a diameter of 1.5 inches. To do this, the master himself clamps the ax in a bench vise, fixes the pipe with tacks so that everything is smooth, and then scalds.

The main stages of work

Next, to a piece of thick-walled pipe on the sides, you will need to weld homemade handles. Each handle will require one long and two short pieces of steel pipe 1.5 inches or smaller in diameter.

On the pipe, in the place where the ax is welded, it is additionally necessary to put on the sleeve for a more even distribution of the shock load. You can make it from a thick-walled pipe. Well, then the shock mechanism is put on.

At the last stage, it remains only to weld the washer to the edge of the pipe. It is needed so that the thick-walled pipe with handles does not fly off after each hit.

Despite the fact that the construction, in principle, turned out to be quite functional, it will probably be much more convenient to chop thick logs with an ordinary cleaver. What do you think about this? Write about it in the comments below the video.
