If you decide to do blacksmithing, then you cannot do without a horn. The most popular are homemade gas horns. However, coal horns are also quite relevant.

In this review, we will tell you how to make a solid fuel hearth with your own hands at home. To do this, you need a brick (regular or fireclay), a centrifugal pump "snail", a piece of steel pipe, corner, strip and sheet metal.

First of all, the master makes a table on which there will be a coal horn. The legs of the table are made of pieces of corner, the countertop itself is made of sheet metal.

A trapezoidal (V-shaped) frame is welded from pieces of steel strips. Bricks are laid on the walls of the frame from the inside. In the center of the channel is a metal pipe with holes. Through it, air will be pumped into the working chamber.

Design features of the coal hearth

The horn is covered with a lid from above - the master made it from some old cylinder. A centrifugal pump is located under the table. It is connected to a metal pipe through plastic sewer pipes.

If necessary, the working chamber of the hearth can be extended a little more. For this, free space is provided behind the rear wall. It is enough to add the right amount of bricks and rearrange the back wall itself, since it is fixed on clamps.
