To make a simple ax with your own hands, which is useful in the country or on a hike (for example, to quickly chop branches or clear the bushes), you just need to find a piece of the old saw blade and a piece of steel pipe.
From the main tool for work, you will need only a grinder with a cutting disc and a flap wheel, as well as a bench vise.

The main stages of work
The first step is to clean the saw blade from rust. Then we draw the contours of the ax, and cut the workpiece using a grinder (angle grinder). We process it on a grinder or a petal wheel.
The author makes a handle for a homemade ax from a piece of a round pipe. We measure the desired length and cut it off with a grinder.
One edge needs to be flattened, after making a slot with an angle grinder. Then you need to drill three holes. We insert the ax into the handle and fix it on rivets.
