Welding in a dense forest: how and how to weld metal away from home

Let's imagine this situation: you are driving a car somewhere in a field or in a dense forest, and something is breaking down for you. Well, for example, the driveshaft.

There is no desire to spend the night in the forest or in the same field. What to do? There is only one way out - to try to repair a part that is out of order (by the way, this may not necessarily be a universal joint).

Then the question arises: "Where to get the welding machine and electricity away from home or garage?"

To do this, just dig in the trunk. And you're very lucky if you can find there two welding cables with a holder and a pair of batteries. Well, a couple of electrodes and a welding mask.

Yes, yes, it is with this kit that you can try to brew broken parts.

Features of alternative welding

Batteries must be connected in series with each other. Thus, we obtain a voltage of 24 V. The current cannot be regulated. But a 3 mm electrode can handle it.

One battery for welding will not be enough, and three will be very much (here electrodes with a diameter of 4-5 mm will be needed). Although with three batteries you can already cook very thick metal. Thin will not work - it will burn.

Now a few words about the disadvantages of this method. If you use two batteries, then there is no sustainable burning of the arc, and therefore there are certain difficulties. But if you adapt, then the problem is solved.
