It doesn’t matter - are you going to lay the laminate on the floor or fasten to the wall - you need to cut it so that there are no chips left on the front surface.

In this review, the author shares his experience and tells how to achieve the perfect result when working with laminate flooring.

It is possible to saw a laminate using an electric jigsaw, as well as a manual circular (or on a circular saw).

Useful tips when working with laminate flooring

If you are going to saw the laminate with an electric jigsaw, then it is advisable to use a special file on the laminate (with a back tooth).

Alternatively, you can also use a file for a curly cut, which has small teeth. She also does not leave chips.

Please note that when using a jigsaw you will not be able to make a straight and straight cut.

Therefore, the best option is to saw on a circular saw or a hand circular saw.

However, the laminate, because of its protective lacquer coating, is the "killer" of any saw blade. And in order not to ditch the disk after just a few meters I drank, you need to saw the laminate on the back, because there is no varnish.

Laminate thickness - 8 mm. Therefore, we set the saw blade to a height of 7 mm and make a cut. The remaining 1 mm is already cut carefully with a knife.

Thus, there will be no chips on the front surface. And the saw blade will "live" much longer.
