In the implementation, there is a wide selection of various means for descaling with ten. But many prefer traditional folk methods and remove it with citric acid. Manufacturers of cleaners strongly advise against this, emphasize inefficiencies, and encourage consumers to purchase their products. What is the actual situation? We will carry out practical tests.

What is needed

It is necessary to prepare a flat-head screwdriver and an asterisk, an 8 × 10 open end wrench, pliers and two bags of citric acid.

Verification technology

You need to see the actual state of the ten before cleaning and compare it after using citric acid. Turn off the water supply and drain from the machine, pull it to a free space. Expand the back wall towards you. Turn off bolts of fixing of a back cover, in most cases a screwdriver under an asterisk, sometimes six-sided or euro keys, is required. Disconnect the machine, unplug the plug. Locate the heater, it is installed in the lower part of the body.

Remove all terminals, tighten the ground wire, unscrew the nut and locknut. Use the 8 × 10 key. Press on the ground bolt, it should drown. This hardware tightens the rubber seal of the PETN from the inside, it must be loosened, otherwise the heating element will not be removed. With a flat screwdriver, pick up the heater housing, pull it out with your hands.

Inspect the condition of the surfaces. In order to better notice the result of acid exposure, use a screwdriver to clear a small section of the spiral from scale. Immediately remove foreign objects from the drum, they sometimes get there.

Install the heater in place, pre-tighten the ground screw. It should protrude slightly beyond the body of the element. Tighten the nuts, insert the plug of the wires.

Connect the water supply and drain, pour two bags of citric acid into the container. Turn on the washing machine without laundry at maximum temperature.

After turning off the machine, you need to inspect the state of ten. Turn off the water and drain, remove the plug and remove the heater.
Surprisingly, it will be perfectly clean, the appearance is almost like new. Another plus - unlike purchased special products, no unpleasant odors remain after the acid.

Conclusion

There are fears that citric acid negatively affects the rubber parts of the machine. It is not necessary to be afraid of such consequences - cleaning is rarely done. Such a short contact of the acid with other materials does not have a negative effect, but provided that the amount of powder should not exceed 100 g. to the tank.
