All motorists, and not only, are familiar with the drug with the official name WD 40. People nicknamed it “vdshkoy” and is used as a universal means for displacing moisture, softening rust and removing corrosion from metal parts. With it, you definitely will not have problems with frozen, stuck or jammed parts and mechanisms.
In everyday life, this drug was widely used after it turned out that it perfectly revives rusty and frozen locks. It easily penetrates into inaccessible places and the smallest cracks, crevices. And for all its popularity, it is also not cheap.
The composition that we are considering today is an experimental version of WD 40. The proposed proportion of chemical elements is subject to change, and is not the final version, since the original composition of the “vdshka” remains a mystery. Based on the known components, the author of the video suggests making a mixture similar in characteristics to the well-known drug.

Where did the idea come from

The whole price of the original WD 40 is to blame. A small bottle of 100 ml will cost about 200 rubles, and a large bottle of 400 ml will cost up to 400 rubles. Thanks to aerosol, the consumption of the drug is quite high.
For rare home use, such expenses will not burden the budget. Motorists often have to resort to her help, and for the craftsmen from the auto repair shop, where they spend it in liters, this is quite an impressive load.
The indicative composition, known for its American chemical safety data sheet, includes:
  • 50% - solvent (white spirit);
  • 25% - propellant (carbon dioxide or carbon dioxide);
  • 15% - mineral oil.

The last 10% comes from secret ingredients called inert. There is an assumption that these are wax-containing substances.
Let's try to repeat the wonderful WD (Water Displacement) “water displacer” solution.

Essential Ingredients

  • White Spirit;
  • Refined gasoline;
  • Mineral oil;
  • Paraffin.

For the mixture you will need a plastic container of 0.5 L with a spray from an air freshener or for watering flowers.

Cooking WD-40

Nefras or petroleum solvents (white spirit and refined gasoline) we take in a hardware store, a supermarket. They are inexpensive, within 50 rubles. Galosha gasoline is suitable as an active solvent with a low octane rating.

As for the oil, it needs only 75-100 ml. Such an amount can be asked on occasion from a garage neighbor, because each motorist has a “duty” canister for topping up. In experience, the best option would be mineral oil.

Paraffin, also a product of oil refining, is necessary as a water-repellent element, which creates a film on the treated surface after application of the drug. A small amount of it is melted, and added to the White Spirit. Do not overdo it with the amount, because in the cold it can lead to thickening of the whole composition.
Advice!
If the drug is used for automotive needs (loosening bolts, clamps, clamps, clamps, gaskets, etc.), paraffin can be omitted. And for home use, for example, to clean dried or frozen keyholes, hinges, deadbolts, this ingredient will provide additional protection against moisture and corrosion.

A plastic bottle with a removable spray gun is ideal for applying the solution. Today they sell air fresheners, cosmetics and even medicines. Also, the puller can be purchased separately, secured to any suitable bottle.
Pour oil into a bottle, followed by white spirit with or without paraffin and refined gasoline. The proportion is as follows:
  • White Spirit - 4 mass fractions;
  • Refined gasoline (Galosha) - 3 mass fractions;
  • Mineral oil - 1 mass fraction.list
    Fill the container by dosing the ingredients, most conveniently with a syringe. Shake the finished solution well, and use it!

    Safety precautions

    Before preparing the drug at home, do not forget that the main components of it are extremely flammable. Mix the solution, and use it should be in protective gloves.
    The original WD 40 cannot be put out with water. In a home-made mixture, there is also a high content of flammable substances, upon ignition of which water will not work.
    Therefore, the preparation and use of the solution is recommended to be done away from open sources of fire, heating devices and powerful lamps that emit heat. Indoors, ventilation must be provided.
    Otherwise, such a recipe for cooking "vdshki" is quite acceptable and economical. One liter of solution costs about 100 rubles, not counting the cost of oil, which is easy to get, and paraffin waste (candles). And there are probably spray bottles in any household. The store version in such a volume will cost 1200-1500 rubles. There is something to compare and something to strive for!
