Corrosion centers or the so-called "mushrooms" can appear on the car body when the paintwork is damaged.

In this review, the author shows a method of how to remove rust on a body on its own in a garage without repainting.

We take a scalpel or a sharp knife, after which we begin to carefully remove the loose layer of rust along with the paint (to the "bare" metal).

Preparatory work

Cut off a small piece of sandpaper (slightly larger than the size of the cleaned area) and begin to sand, smoothing the edges.

After that, degrease the surface and apply a rust remover (rust converter with zinc), and wait at least 30 minutes.

After half an hour, apply the second layer of the transducer, without additionally preparing the surface. We are waiting again for 30 minutes.

The main stages of work

After neutralizing the stain with rust, the author proceeds to paint over the exposed area.

Please note that before painting, you do not need to degrease anything else - we apply the paint directly to the galvanized surface.

Enamel color is selected individually - according to the color of the car body.

First, apply the first coat of paint, leave for 30-40 minutes until completely dry. Then apply a second coat.

Next, degrease the surface, and apply automotive acrylic varnish on top of the paint. It will be enough 2 layers.

After the varnish has dried, we proceed to grinding. In this case, also uses water.

It is necessary to grind movements back and forth, but in no case circular. The last stage of work is polishing.
